How do you block farmville? It's annoying me the amount of posts I get a day from people who've found a sparkly pure egg or a wounded badger. I'd love to not have all that guff clogging up my iPhone screen.
I am having similar issues with notification sounds in that I get none. Not too fussed but would be nice if it did exactly what it said on the tin.
Try going to settings->application settings
Once the page loads, go to the drop down box and select "allowed to post"
Find farmville and click edit settings and you can change it there.
Also, on the news page you can go and click the hide next to any farmville news, then you can select Hide Farmville. This will prevent it from showing up in the news feed.

I built a table that links directly to bestbuy, walmart and target (http://kiernanvandoorn.wordpress.com/2011/04/01/where-in-the-world-can-i-buy-an-ipad2-now/) to check inventory levels. it helps, but with very little supply there isn't any good news hiding on the back shelf. And there are horror stories all over the next about bad practices like forcing customers to buy service protection plans just to buy from existing inventory. Hello,
I have an Omega Speedmaster Professional as a gift from my former employer. It has a steel band. Is there anyway to replace with with a faux leather bad. I don't think I can afford the genuine Omega band at this point in my life and the Steel bites my wrist. Also, how would I install such a thing?

I wasn't just looking for advice on dating in general (although I'll take it, don't get me wrong :) ), I was looking for advice on this particular girl. I have dated all pc users in the past, but at the time I was a pc user as well, so I cannot comment as to the heart and intellect of Mac using women vs. their pc counterparts. I often study, as often as I study :p, at Borders (similar to Barnes and Noble if you don't have them) and that usually does well for finding one or two Mac using 'momma's', however usually they are cramming for something, not exactly my setting for walking up and asking them to chat.
I realize there are a plethora of women around, especially where I am from they are quite kind to the eyes and their father's wallets seem rather bulged, however....well nevermind, I really have no valid excuses. I am just single until I amass enough funds to purchase many hot women, since that always seems to work :rolleyes:

This girl must have you star-struck, eh? Sending messages over to other computers in the apple store is difficult. They always have these odd names for ichat/bonjour services, so it's not likely you'll be able to do this on your first try. You could be sending a message to another GUY somwhere in the store for all you know.

That is just it, I have no idea if she that hot because I hardly know her, and physical appearance only goes so far. As far as hiding behind "i dont care" as steeleclipse mentioned, I am not hiding behind it, I am stating a true fact, which myself of all people should realize to be true. If I go there again I am not going to avoid her, I would hope she doesn't feel the urge to avoid me considering I haven't done anything to her, and frankly shopping doesn't require purchases, so I shouldn't be forced to only enter the store when I have a need to purchase, I like to browse. I would not at all be pissed if she dated someone else, for all I know she could be right now and that is great for her. I simply thought she was an attractive and interesting person, and since I have a poor history of initiating contact with women I like, I thought I would ask around. I guess my purpose didn't quite filter in to all of your understandings :p

This may just be the beginning. The article in Wired talks about "Data Hogs" and how ATT has been trying to get them to throttle back their usage. How, I don't know. I've been noticing more and more dropped calls on 3G as of late, so much that I have to disable it just to be able to make and complete a call.
Think about it for a second: if this were really an effort to reduce network traffic, it would be a piss-poor way of going about it. For one thing, denying the iPhone to new customers would be far less dependable than throttling data speed. For another, they're closing down only one of many distribution channels, meaning that people in NYC will still be able to get all the iPhones they want. Finally, this would be a public admission that their network is insufficient...and more fodder for the Verizon commercials. You can't tell me that that's not first in every AT&T Wireless executive's mind right now.
I don't know what's going on -- everything is just speculation based on what some low-level AT&T employees (probably new ones who couldn't get out of the holiday shift) said. And I'm not going to jump to any conclusions. I'm just saying that the Consumerist's interpretation doesn't make much sense.
But, if it was really about fraud in certain areas - wouldn't that mean that you can't purchase ANY phone from ATT online? Why would it only apply to the iPhone?

You do understand that it's not that they're adopting them as their primary system for day to day use, but rather they're purchasing more because (with the slight increase in popularity of the OSX platform) they have to be able to counter said OSX threats.
They're mirroring the increased OSX hacker population. This isn't really anything for any Apple fanboi to be proud of.
Someone recently said Windows is a house with bars in a bad neighborhood and OSX being a house without locks in the country.
That being true, the FBI is just reacting in the expected manner to the increasing the number of criminals in the country (due to the increased number of country houses).

The MS products have more functionality for sure ... question is if really everyone needs everything from that functionality. For most home users and even some business users iWorks does everything they need and is therefore a cheaper option that does the trick. Many business customers (and few home users) need stuff that iWork does not offer, but MS Office does.
Bottom line: depends on your use case -> bold statements like Product A is better then B are rarely true since it usually depends on many things.

I just use map quest application. It is a free application and offers voice-based turn by turn directions with street names and all. Traffic updates really aren't worth the extra $40 if you ask me. And half the time I shut off the screen and just listen to the voice direction to save battery life, so 3D maps are a mute point with me...
I use the MapQuest app as well but I do miss all of the other functions and features of a full fledged Navigation app/device.
Anyone know if there is a jailbreak version of this app or will it not work because it is authenticated on the server side?
