90% of my work is done in PhotoShop. Without it I'd be lost. So I'd have to say Adobe. Now if only I could get my company to drop Quark for InDesign . . .

Hi there,
Just wanted to make a suggestion on thread titles. I may be the only one, but I think that thread titles with repeated question marks (?????) are annoying and unnecessary. It only suggests unnecessary urgency and importance to the thread the poster has written. Therefore I think there should be a rule that states that threads with more than one repeated question mark in the title will be deleted until renamed.
Thanks,
Ams.

Wouldn't you be KICKING yourself, though, if an 800MHz Ti was released the next week for the 667's price? That, to me, is definitely worth the wait. We know they're due any time now... why give in when they're so close?

But people like that are almost annoying as the pompous fools that think they are better than everyone else, and deserve each and every mugging they get.[/QUOTE]
Wow, that seems like it came directly out of Phone Booth with Colin Farrell. Just watched it last nite in fact! (great movie, very psychological)

This is a topic that's appeared in a few previous threads, but the recent barefeets benchmark tests comparing the slightly different configured 1GHz Quicksilver to the new 1 GHz dual, despite competing views these tests have generated, leave me and perhaps many of us wondering which is the better deal: a used dual GHz or its newer "equivalent"?
I just bought from an individual the older one w/3yrs AppleCare, a gig of memory, the NVIDEA GForce 4MX, and an external 40-gig Maxtor drive, all for the same amount as Apple's stock-configured 1 GHz dualie. There's no Apple Store near me to see the newer one up close.
I'm not a graphics arts designer or filmmaker but a cultural anthropologist/folklorist/professor who will be burning DVDs for classroom pursposes for the university where I teach. Also, I'd hope whatever I get will still hold its own a few years later.
I'd appreciate any thoughts on this, but in layman's terms. Apple techies expectedly insist that the newer model is the better way to go.
Thanks,
Rick

As I said, you need to be explicit about what it is you have and the result you want. For instance...
I have a dictionary that I'd like to use with a UIPickerView to select two values from and display in two UILabels in my app. The dictionary key is a string to be displayed in the first component of the picker. The dictionary value for each key is an array of strings. When the left component changes, I'd like the second component to reflect the appropriate values for the key. Finally, I'd like to use the selected values with my labels.
And yes, current code sample can help and is often asked for because it can make clearer what problem a person is having. When you supply code, wrap it in the CODE tags.

You should read a few reviews. I would suggest heading towards the TRIM or CapsuleRebel.

I know there is some software that lets u bypass the firewire requiremtn.
I got one a while back that iddnt work, where can i get some software that will allow me to use it. I need the tried and true. I hate getting my hopes up and downloading stuff just to get it not to work
Unless your camera supports using it as a webcam it won't work.

a G3 iBook would be best, IMO.
The airport cards can be hard to find, and be sure to max out the ram.
I had one, then it got passed to my bro, and it's still chugging along. Just watch out for logic board probs. :)

Try using passive mode. Issue "pasv" or "passive" in the command-line or find this option in your GUI clients.thanks for responding. yeah i checked the connection settings in 'Preferences'. Its already in Passive mode.

Well I am using it on my iBook (localhost) and it works great. When I tried to connect to the Windows machine at work I got the same error. I hope that they get this figured out. I really like it and would love a functional OS X version.

AP says no. :D
Again, proving my ignorance...
"AP" is what? "Associated Press"? Or, I mean, "Associated Press?"
No, I don't - that looks like I'm using "Associated Press?" as a phrase.
I'm so confused. I think I'll just speak my posts from now on and supply the link to the audio file.
No, wait, I'll have to record them with my iSight... otherwise, I'll not be able to do the "air quotes". "Air quotes." Dammit....

how much time are we talking and when do you start? I have another 3 weeks in my semester but then I am free. And I have quite the soft spot for 2D sprite-esc gaming.

Out of curiosity, why did you use a third party charger? I've done it a few times with other devices, but it's always been with quality, branded chargers (like charging my Kindle with my BlackBerry's charger), but I wouldn't dare do that with my iPad unless I knew it was top quality since so many of those third party chargers, like third party batteries, can damage your equipment.
By the way, I think using a third party charger may have voided your warranty anyway. At least on some devices I'm pretty sure it does.
No way third party chargers void warranty, if it did, we wouldn't have a single Apple device left with any warranty.
Anyway, OP is in luck, as 4.3.1 JB just came out. So he can just restore to that and see if that fixes his problem.

If not this is refering to AirTV...
Just speculation.
RSAi like the sound of that "Airbook" cant wait to stream the keynote from steve:apple:

If cost is a issue OWC usually has great deals on their ram and seems to have a great warranty to back it up and will let you trade in old ram to knock the price down even further.
Seen that and it seems like a great deal.
Its worth noting though that if you bring in a computer with aftermarket RAM installed to the GB, you will run into some issues. Unless you REALLY need the extra cash back, id put the original apple RAM in that antistatic bag that the new stuff comes in and stick it somewhere safe in case the need arises.
Just a thought....

actually, if there were some layers (i.e. mixing some of the existing tracks) to get some more depth, it could be quite nice.

As mentioned on previous post, you need to have your SHSHs saved if you want to installed anything else than the current firmware released by Apple, (currently 4.3). The windows where Apple was signing those SHSHs for 4.2.1 have already been closed (so unless somehow you got your SHSHs saved by tiny Umbrella or Cydia before) your only option is to upgrade to 4.3 or wait out for a Jailbreak tool.
Jailbreak tools don't help restore to earlier firmware. It's more the other way around -- people save SHSHs in case a jailbreak method requires a downgrade to earlier firmware. If you didn't save the SHSH, there's no way to downgrade, now or ever.
