I also sold the exact same machine on eBay in August. I got $1,000 for it.

+1 The sides look terrible.
Agreed. It looks very Jersey Shore-ish IMO.

why is a tab button needed. Command + T seems to be easier. Now a way to scroll through tabs would be nice.

Would you care to elaborate on this, and its security implications?
Also, if you modify your httpd.conf file (which *is* the best method, but rarely available in shared hosting environments), don't forget to restart Apache ;)
If the file is writable, it depends on the user who owns it. If it is writable by the user running the web server, someone might be able to write a shell script into that file. Now that it has execute privileges, it's not that far of a stretch to get it to execute.
A good rule of thumb is don't give any more permissions than are necessary. If it only needs to be readable, then there's no reason to give write or execute privileges. Many security incidents happen due to lax security. Don't be one of them.
Also, you're right on with the shared server piece. I didn't recognize that the original question was concerning a shared web server.

Don't be too harsh on me. :o
I have pretty simple set up here at home but I think I'm at the point where I would like to have some sort of file server, networked hub if possible.
I have an intel iMac, a newer pc with Win7, these are the two main computers in use. I also have an older g5 tower that is not currently being used at all. It has two hd's in it.
I would like to set up the g5 to store all my photos and music, iphoto and iTunes libraries, on and use as a backup. How hard is it to do this? And if I do, can I share with both the pc and the iMac?
I don't have a monitor hooked up to the g5 and I'd rather not have to do that if possible. Should this be wired or wireless? I have a wireless card in the g5.
Thanks for any and all help!

I would use Rapidweaver - it's a step up from iWeb which is important as I'm pretty sure iWeb is going to be getting dropped soon!

Wow! Just wow. First, your movie editor cannot change your source footage. Second, DV is Digital Video. If you have analog video, then it impossible for it to be DV.
No need to be condescending. A simple explanation would suffice, especially when it's obvious he's looking for help.

Great pics! I definitely think you have the eye for good subjects. However, I have seen others post about your composition. Google "rule of thirds" and learn it. You will be surprised how much of a difference it makes. You don't even really have to force yourself to shoot rule of thirds with todays cameras you can typically just crop to get your image composed the way you like it.

Has anyone verified this actually fixes the hyperthreading problem that reared its ugly head in 9.1.2 (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1030872)?

What are some precautions I should take before selling my Air? Beyond wiping my SSD what else do I need to do to make sure my data is securely erased?

I have stuck with Tiger in my G4s, so I can't speak to Leopard's performance.
You should install the maximum possible amount of RAM before doing anything else, but a HDD upgrade will definitely improve performance as well and should make the machine perfectly suitable for general internet browsing and basic image editing/light gaming work and so forth.
Bear in mind that these machines are only going to get older, and G4s can never handle HD video, so while they are perfectly servicable you will want to limit the amount of money you put into upgrades.

When I look at the depreciation of MBP, it is much worse than a MP. For example, 2008 models of MP have depreciated by about ~50%, while MBP have depreciated ~75% for similar price starting price point of the computers.

Sorry to hear about the problem.
Might want to try Apple Store next time.
If you want a discount on a Mac, go for the refurb at store.apple.com
Refurb Apple products look like new, and has same warranty as new Apple products.

This is a new one I have never seen. This happens in both Safari and Firefox, so I am assuming it is an issue with my computer. Starting a few days ago, I noticed these little yellow tool tips or popup boxes appear with news clips. You can not click on it and they only show up when you refresh or start a new page. It does not happen always when you over over a hyperlink either!!
This is the strangest thing I have seen and I can not find anything online about this. I am annoyed by this and have no idea how to make it stop!
Any advice??

Anyone remember this one? I always wondered if anyone had one and what the gaming experience was like? I don't know if it ever made it into production... anyone actually own one here?

Will I be able to put the retail version on a flash drive? Because my dvd drive is pretty much busted.
Yes, I did the same for my flatmate's 1st gen MacBook whose drive is also bust.
Would it be possible just to clone my Macbook 6,1 HDD and restore it to the HDD on the 1,1?
I'm not sure if this can be done without any problems.

They do. That's why we had to send some DV decks back to Sony, as they were often kaputt due to the wrong order of connecting them to the computer.
