Macs are like Semi's : the don't rev very high but they can haul a ****load of cargo from A to B.
PC's are like Chevy Avalanche: A nearly useless SUV with nearly every extra but guarenteed to work and look like **** in less than 5 years and always do a half-assed job on all but the basic navigation. :D

I think these are perfectly fine and I'm sure there will be another revision next year. The only thing that would have tilted the scales for me to hold out for the iPad2 is if it had a higher resolution screen. The cameras do nothing for me and the weight and thickness I don't think will make much of a difference when just using it around the house.

Yup, pretty much. If Video conferencing is not a requirement, then iPad 1 is just as good for all practical purposes. There may be some outliers but so be it. We will catch up next year.

We have and will continue to have universal healthcare. We have and will continue to have a pension system and hopefully the conservatives can patch it up so that it will there for me when I retire as a supplement/backup for my RRSPs. The opposition parties would have either bankrupted the pension system or raised taxes on everyone which would have caused another recession. I truly hope that the conservatives will strengthen both our health care and pension systems the baby boomers are going to add significant costs to both and there's nothing any party can do about that. However I heard 'stay the course' from the political messaging from the conservatives and nothing about health care or pensions.
The conservatives are "real" fiscal conservatives unlike the republicans and social moderates. Understand this, social moderate mean that they are out to serve the needs of all Canadians and not just special interests. If there are problems with our system then the solution needs to be to fix it for everyone as that is the only fair thing to do. If you pay into the system then you should be able to access that system. I hope you are right, but tax cuts to big oil and billion dollar summits don't sound to fiscally conservative do they?

They pretty much will. They do it w/ Airplay audio. $4 is only to cover extra cost of overhead needed to provide it to OEM's. No profit being made.

One biggie is an enhancement, as opposed to a fix. Outlook can now sync w/iCal. This was present in Entourage, but was dropped from the initial release of Outlook.
Too bad this wasn't released a couple of weeks ago. I could have saved some struggles for my boss who we moved from Windows/Outlook to OS X/Mail/iCal.

Why can't Apple do WIFI screensharing using Airplay and AppleTV? They were boasting about how you can connect the iPad to the bigscreen using a cable...how cool would it be if you didn't need the cable (just use AppleTV or Airplay licensed device)? The technology obviously exists...there is already another company who makes such a device. It seems like Apple is very close they just need to make the next step.

3.33 ghz i7 6-core is better than a 2.4 ghz 8-core Mac Pro for Logic imo. You want each core to be fast too so none will hit their ceiling.

It's pretty clear that the lens is in a deeper "well" in the white model. This is consistent with the rumor that light was impinging on the camera in the white model. What you need to do is limit all light that isn't coming from directly in front of the lens. No light from the side, and definitely no light from the inside of the camera. The way to fight it if you have an SLR? Invest in an old fashioned thing called a bellows, which shields the lens from any light that isn't coming from the area you can focus on, and which doesn't do anything but add glare or make blacks in the picture more like dark gray. This deeper camera acts like a bellows, I presume, blocking any light coming through the white, more translucent body.
Nice theory except that a bellows goes between the lens and the camera. I believe the item you are looking for is a lens shade. ;)
