Ditched my 17" HP and my Dell Desktop when I got my 15" MBP. I tried juggling different laptops and what not but it got to be kind of a pain. I do everything on my MBP now and along with the 1TB backup drive and countless cloud storage accounts, I'm pretty good with my setup now. That and I have about 10 USB keys so the important data I need will always come with me.

So I have a Rev C. 667 powerbook and it won't boot up when I press the power button?
Any thoughts on this before I make a trip to the Apple store.....(oh, and its a work computer and they didn't get AppleCare - stupid I know, but I wasn't paying for it.....)

We've spotted one glitch from the start: the main album page doesn't display the right images and the links to albums don't work.
Until we track down the problem and fix it, you can click on the user name for an album and view their photos by clicking an album shown on their personal profile page.

RealPlayer is indeed very useful. It's the only player that runs on all 3 major platforms, and I don't have any problems with it (except that I wish the mouse would disappear when you go fullscreen, and when you close the player window, the whole app quits). I don't see why so many people dislike it, but I'm sure they've got their reasons.

I almost got a heart attack that I read Apple Releases Boot Camp Updates... I though that finally the backlit will not be always on or the light sensor will start working or there will be more decent multitouch trackpad...

Top-line iMac or base-line Mac Pro?
Hey guys, I'm a video editor that works mostly with RED footage in Final Cut Pro and After Effects. I'm also a gamer running Bootcamp and Steam. I'm currently working on a 3 year old Macbook Pro and looking to upgrade by the end of the year. Here are my choices, I'm wondering if a new top of the line iMac will outperform the current base model of the Mac Pros for gaming and video work... or if the Mac Pro is the way to go.
27" iMac
3.4ghz Quad-Core i7
2TB Serial ATA HD
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB
$2,304 (Student)
Mac Pro
2.8ghz Quad-Core Xeon "Nehalem"
2TB 7200 RPM HD
ATI Radeon HD 5870 1GB
$2,614 (Student w/ no display)
I plan on buying RAM (and Mac Pro display) elsewhere so I did not include it in the specs. Thoughts? :)
No question Mac Pro this is the only solution for Video Editing. The Mac Pro will give you the expandability you will need it is a joke trying to do video editing at a pro level or using RED on an iMac. Get the Mac Pro and as you have money buy more drives (RAIDs), and RAM etc. You also give yourself the option of installing pro level capture cards. I will admit that the dual thunderbolt ports makes the issue less clear but not enough for me to alter the recommendation. You may consider waiting for the next gen mac pro with thunderbolt before buying if you want to play it safe.

Apple is in no rush to hurry something as important as this. A buggy IDE = Fail for Apple and a slow down in iPad iPhone iTouch and Mac Apps.
They obviously think that the current IDE = fail, if they are releasing a total overhaul of the UI.
Making the IDE better will help them bring in new developers.

I threw my free case on the trash, I hated the damn thing. Then again I never had the signal bars problem. I now only use my different styles of speck case just for protection of my clumsy hands.

Hey guys I'm new to this jailbreaking thing and had question and I hope one of you iPhone wizards can help me out. I was wondering if I am running on 3.1.3 firmware right now(my iPhone is currently jailbroken) if I were to update my firmware would I lose the jailbreak?? Would it unjailbreak my phone with a firmware update? I really don't want to try and re jailbreak it, will I have to or would the iPhone still remain jailbroken even if I update?? IIRC, the Quadro is the same as the 7800, but with a port for a stereo-3D headset.
I've got a 6600 in my PowerMac G5 and it's certainly whisper quiet since it doesn't have a fan. I'm considering an upgrade to an ATI X1900, though. I've got an X1900XT in my Mac Pro at work and I'm more than modestly pleased with it, but the 6600 is more than adequate for what I need at home.
