Just to let know everybody that i just sent my first complain about edesignuk as a moderator.
I'm gonna have to go with the crowd here and ask why? I'm not aware that I've done anything other than move a couple of threads, and ban a few spammers
Its fair to say that you and I don't really get along often, but I'm certainly not out to get anyone.

Yes. I'd give him condoms and lube, and a stern talking-to about what happens if he gets a girl pregnant, but yes.
If he were gay, I'd just give him the condoms and lube and wish him well. ;) "The gays are so much easier." -Bobbi Adler

I loved the keynote and am quite excited about the Widescreen WiFi iPod Video (which also happens to be a phone and an internet communicator). Even the price is fine with me. I was expecting it to be more expensive. Since I'm a Cingular customer already and my contract expired 4 months ago, I'm pretty happy with the announcement!
The spotlight was entirely on the iPhone today, and I'm okay with that.
We'll hear about Leopard, iLife, iWork, and Mac updates soon enough, but the real excitement is no longer in annual incremental updates to these products.
If the keynote had featured only these existing products, that would have been horrendously disappointing.
Instead, Apple delivered a great show and they will deliver updates to existing products soon.
But for today the spotlight is on only one thing: iPhone.

Lets say his girlfriends parents say it's ok for them to sleep in the same room. Also, lets say that you also know that your son is having sex. Lets also say that your son has been going out with this girl for 3 months. So would you let him or not?
No.
No.

:] This really inspires me to try to donate blood. Hopefully this time I won't pass out due to a drop in blood pressure (&consequently throw out my incomplete donation)
I do think, though, that homosexuals should not be banned from donating blood. Heterosexuals are at equal risk of having HIV.. it all depends on safe sex, not sexuality. :/

While I don't feel as strongly as you I have to agree. The original mac.com had a significant feel to it.
Me.com sounds frivolous.
I liked my mac.com address, it was something you felt good about.
me.com is Steve's every dream, it's self centered and arrogant as hell.
Nothing could be worse.

I think this is my favourite desktop ever (some of yours are okay though;))- tried showing it to people IRL but nobody's interested in neat desktops :( (not looking for any response btw- just have to get this out there- love the subject, the composition of the pic and the harmony) Yep, be a while before this pales: one of the best desktops of all time :D

because chiming in like that to an article others find interesting is a juvenile waste of time and bandwidth. its like... i think your mom's boring. relevance? none. nobody cares what random people on the internet think is boring.
You're totally right, my opinion is wrong and juvenile...while yours is constructive and relevant to the topic at hand. Oh wait...

but why not? sex is good, and if both consent to it then their should be no problems as long as they know to be safe ect.
The why not is not the point. Its the fact that parents don't lose control the very second they're 18.

Which is kind of hard on such a restricted and limited platform. There would be more useful software for the iPad if it ran a 'real' operating system like Mac OS X -- meaning full file system access and not being tied into ONE App Store with arbitrary rules for what a program is allowed to do.
The iOS architecture of firewalling file system access for each application makes huge sense: it eliminates the means by which malware can attack the data of other programs. Apple could relax those rules at some point; the greatest speculation I hear is that there will be a DMZ where files could be moved from one app to another. This is a far better strategy than having a promiscuous operating system and try to add the protection afterwards.
What exact app store rules do you think are arbitrary, Winni?

Can you post a link for the cookie monster?
Someone asked for it last month and it was never posted and I couldn't find it using TinEye.

Well, as I said before
NUTTY FOLKS: OMG Apple keeps a copy of some wifi stations on my phone. It's a huge privacy violation!
FACT: Apple doesn't access the database cache, emails, passwords, photos on your phone either.
Agreed. More often than not, Apple has tried to side with the user's interests. It's good business practice for them since an angry customer is not a good customer. And since their business model depends on people spending hard-earned cash for products, they need to make their users happy.
Wall Street and the marketplace seem to think they are doing an overall good job.
Exactly.

That was the point of my initial posts, hindsight is 20:20, and learning off others experience/failures can be a good thing.
Considering it was one of the largest web advertising companies in the Southern Hemisphere, hardly a player you'd expect to take a fall and be out of business within 6months of contracting there.... It had massive backing, a large list of clients, and employed well over 750 staff in Australia alone.
Then the only thing to learn from this story, like I wrote, is be ready to explain yourself.
Though I understand where you're coming from, you also have to credit the fact there's an expectation of newbies to take every single job coming just because it pays rather than taking a strategic look instead of the day-to-day tactical vision.
Yes, that expectation is correct, and this is because early on one can't be anything BUT tactical. Your AUS story verifies that you should take a portion of payment up front, regardless, and stand tall for decisions you make. Period.
The kind of learning you are suggesting the OP acquire through reading and osmosis is, in fact, only attainable through direct experience. Rather, "newbies" should, instead of prematurely declining jobs on principle, take real steps to reduce the negative impact of numerous INEVITABLE failures through a few basic must-dos when taking on a job. 1) Get up front money, especially from an ostensibly capable client, 2) pay your own bills, 3) do two things at the same time if you're truly worried about "holes" in your CV, 4) don't worry about holes in your CV (see #3), because you need to learn how to EXPLAIN your failures, 5) do some real design.

What makes you think that they're better? ;)
They won't have any bug fixes.

Why would you want to use ddr2 anyways? its slower, and more power consuming. If you have a lot, consider selling them. Or maybe build a Hackintosh with a second hand cpu with lots of ram

I always believed the high sales of CDMA iPhone's would be a gradual process. Not everyone is just going to up and leave at&t and pay termination fee's. Over the next couple of years I'm pretty certain between LTE and contracts ending, the number of Verizon iPhone sales will grow exponentially.
