Yana's "Laila" shot in 15 hours

So kicked was the team about the song that they managed to complete shooting for it within 15 hours flat. Yana Gupta too was so excited with the song that she rearranged her schedule and even shot for it while she was ill.

Says a production source, "The team shot for the song for a straight 15 whole hours without a break. Yana was down with high fever and was simultaneously shooting for "Jhalak" but she managed to work around her schedule and shot for the song." Talking about the song, director Shashant says, "Gaurav Dasgupta's composition was rustic, fresh and very innovative. Also, some songs are an instant hit, "Laila" has that quality to it. It is an excellent dance number with catchy lyrics and has a very interesting graph."

Produced by Krishika Lulla and Mahesh Bhupathi, " Chalo Dilli" comes to a theatre near you on April 29.

Zeenat Aman likes the new "Laila"

Zeenat Aman might not be happy with the new version of her cult song Dum maaro dum, but the veteran actress is quite satisfied with the neo-age version of Laila o laila and is going all out to lend her support to it.

The famous song from the 1980 film Qurbani has been re-arranged for the film Chalo Dilli, which is actress Lara Dutta's first home production.

"I liked the song when I heard it. They have retained the original version and at the same time have given the song a new flavour. It's got a rustic, ethnic feel and I liked it a lot. So I'm supporting it," Zeenat told IANS.

The new version has been picturised on Yana Gupta and the 31-year-old is extremely happy to be a part of such a cult song.

Yana said: "I was extremely excited to do this song because it's fantastic. I'm just honoured to do Zeenatji's song. I think people will like it.

Yana said she was very happy that Zeenat gave her support for the song. "It's a big deal for me," she said.

"I saw the video of the original song a couple of times and saw the style that Zeenatji used in the song. But I didn't copy her as I thought of doing it my own way because the song is very different," she added.

Lara is a huge Sholay fan

Lara Dutta is one busy lady these days. Barely two months into her marriage with tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi, the actress has stepped into the role of a producer with her upcoming film Chalo Dilli, starring Vinay Pathak and her.

In conversation with Sonil Dedhia, Lara talks about life after marriage, her maiden production venture and her hilarious co-star.

How is marriage treating you?

There are so many additional responsibilities. I am learning how to strike a balance between my professional and personal life.

Is it difficult to come to terms with being married?

Not at all. I have always embraced my responsibilities. Although there are a lot of things happening at the same time, I'm enjoying every moment.

Wasn't it a little too early to get into production? Was it a planned move?

Yes, it was. I'd always wanted to venture into production. I'm working on a couple of scripts now. Unfortunately, in this industry, it's alright for an actor to have a production house but if an actress has one, it's assumed that it's only because she is married and doesn't have any work to do, so she's making movies for herself.

"Chalo Dilli" inspired by DDLJ

If the train-catching sequence in the promo of Lara Dutta's debut production " Chalo Dilli" gives you a sense of deja vu, it was meant to be! The actress admits that she took inspiration from 1995 blockbuster " Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ)".

"There is one scene in the film where I run to catch the train and Vinay's character Manu...he extends his hand to pull me onto the train. And, of course, we were inspired by DDLJ," said Lara.

The iconic scene from DDLJ featured Bollywood's most loved romantic couple Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan. And now moviegoers will see Vinay and Lara reprising it in "Chalo Dilli", a comedy film.

Lara, however, rules out there was ever an intent to outdo the chemistry of the original scene.

"In no way are we ever going to compete with a film like DDLJ. It's just that when somethings inspire you, you try and give an ode to them. So that scene is inspired by DDLJ, yet it is quite unique in its own," she added.

The trailer of the movie was released alongside Abhinay Deo's "Game".
