Aathma 3D

‘Aathma’ is India’s first new wave 3D stereo scopic movie and will be hitting big screens this May! The movie will be simultaneously releasing in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. Prior to this, these technologies were used in James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ – a movie that made waves internationally.

Ace director Vikram Bhatt is directing ‘Aathma,’ a 3D horror flick. Vikram Bhatt already has three horror Bollywood flicks to his credit, ‘Raaz,’ ‘1920’ and ‘Shaapit.’ All these movies have acted as trendsetters for horror films in the industry!

Needless to say, a combination of horror and 3D will be a perfect entertainer this summer. Speaking to the media, Vikram Bhatt expressed, “Horror by itself is scary, and ‘Aathma’ will definitely be a nerve-chilling experience.”

The hero, Rehan, visits Dalhousie, the Glen Manor that his father had initiated for sale and has come to a standstill. Rehan unearths the mysteries and miseries of the past and present in the Glen Manor, and wants to free the house of the spirit that is taking hold of the house. While doing so, Rehan comes across Meera’s picture and wonders how anyone can ever fall in love with a picture? But he does fall in love with it and this turns out to be only a bigger challenge for him, for the picture and Meera are the reasons of why the house is haunted!

Looks like there’s a lot to look forward to from ‘Aathma,’ in terms of the script and the technology never seen by Indian audiences!

Abhishek is my hero: Mimoh

"I had no work for 3 years after my first release... I was jobless," says Mahakshay Chakraborty aka Mimoh, with a candour that's endearing.

Tell him this is a far cry from those newcomers who often say they're busy going through scripts or have projects in the pipeline and he says, "My dad ( Mithun Chakraborty) has always told me that you gotta be honest with yourself and by admitting that I had no work, I am just being honest. It was a frustrating period. Other newcomers were bagging projects, doing commercials, even dating all the hot chics in town and here I was being refused work left right and centre!

But in these tough times I always looked up to Abhishek Bachchan for inspiration. He's the son of the 'God' of the industry and has to constantly live with comparisons. He told me that people are always gonna put you down, but you gotta get up and fight! So, Abhishek's my hero!"

Telling us why he chose a horror film - Haunted - as his second film , the actor says, "Look when a struggling actor has no work and then a reputed director like Vikram Bhatt agrees to audition him and he messages him saying 'you're on in my next film', for God's sake, I am not going ask what film it is! I just leapt at the chance and I'm just so happy to have done such a different project."

Meet Mithunda's son, Mahakshay Chakraborthy

He’s tall, has his mom Yogita Bali’s face and is ready to struggle like his famous father Mithun Chakraborty once did.

When his debut film Jimmy sank at the box-office, Mimoh was a shattered young man. Devastated, he sat at home for almost three months.

Even over the telephone (he was speaking to FSJ from distant Ooty, where he was chilling out at Hotel Monarch, owned by dad Mithun), the hollow despair of that dark period came through clearly.

Mimoh recalled how he was written off. “I felt useless. I felt like a dead man walking because I thought I had screwed up my career with Jimmy. I felt I was as good as finished as an actor and a blot on my father’s name.”

That feeling of complete defeat didn’t last long. The resilience that coursed through his genes gave him the strength to struggle to his feet again.

“I felt I was as good as finished as an actor and a blot on my father’s name”

“I did not want to give up,” he explained. “I gathered strength slowly and steadily but it took me almost three years to stand on my own feet once more.”
