Is it me, or are the decimal points on the photo for "Capacity" and "Available" both commas?

This 3D tech is not as cool as it looks in these videos. Both your eyes receive the same image, so your brain knows its not 3D. Nothing will look like its "popping" out of your screen at you.
I like this better than the 3D requiring glasses. As somebody else clarified 3D is being able to see all three dimensions.
Let's hope that if they do it, there is an option to switch it on or off
Thinking about battery life.

this sounds pretty cool. is it possible to do this and keep a sturdy product? correct me if im wrong but i thought they moved away from the moving wheel (1G ipod) to the touch wheel because it was less moving parts. very cool and innovative. i hope this is something that gets used and knowing apple they will use it well!

wtf is exactly what i've been saying for a while.
I've owned every iPhone, and every new iPhone running X.0, runs beautifully, only to be slowed down and negatively effected by every single interim update.
One thing that i learned with Apple. Never update to a major os versions from factory.

I couldn't care less about video, and wireless syncing is likely to be too slow to be useful. However, it recently occurred to me that there's a killer application for wireless in the iPod, and I hope Apple doesn't miss the boat here. They've been going on and on about how so many car manufactures offer iPod integration kits now, but every one of those requires you to pull the iPod out of your pocket/bag/whatever and plug it into the car. It's still kind of a pain.
Imagine having audio wirelessly sent to your car's stereo. The iPod is in your pocket, you're listening on headphones as you walk up to your car. You get in, turn it on, and without missing a beat, the music is playing on your car speakers. You never had to touch the iPod - it's still in your pocket.
It seems to me that this is exactly the kind of seamless integration that Apple strives for. And if there were a stereo kit available that worked with this, I'd get it in a heartbeat. Of course, they could also do it for home stereos a la Airport Express. You arrive home, walk in the door, and your music is playing right where it left off on your home stereo. Maybe the iPod would even pause it while no headphones or wireless receivers are connected - so you don't miss that cool solo while walking from the driveway to the front door.
Am I alone in thinking this would be the coolest and most useful application of wireless?

Interesting...I do indeed wonder if Apple does pursue the mobile phone market which provider they will be aligned with? Most likely Cingular given the track record they've had so far with their iTunes enabled phones.
Well hopefully people will get what they want...An iPhone could be pretty cool.

a stellar update, for sure.
however, it seems to be a consensus that we miss the flash drive functionality.
the old one may have been twice the size, but it essentially had the dock built in.

TBH the 27" IMac is sounding very tempting with the double TB and SB
why on earth is the HDD not sata-3
i was planning on copping an IMac for my family home, as my parent and sisters love my MBP - but i really do not care if the IMac CPU is 10-15% faster, when the hdd only links to sata3 - as i would of put an owc ssd in!
Guess i will wait for a 2012 re-fresh when apple finally recognises sata-6
i hope, rather than giving us TB - which i love, but at this point in time is a little redundant as there is no TB equipped peripherals available - hopefully a next gen apple cinema display with OLED and TB would also get my cash!
I love my iMac, but i think next year, i will have to get the new Macbook pro to go along with it.

Magneium is can be had for $16 USD/Metric Tonne
I like to see a reference for this one...the last I saw, magnesium was around $2000/MT. It was big news a few months ago when magnesium prices barely dipped below those for aluminum...I don't know the current prices, but there's no way Mg is going for $16/MT.
Edit: Just checked...Mg is trading for about 1.90 USD/kg.

They should have add Wi-Fi, up the 400 Model to HDMI, 120GB Harddrive, then give the core 20Gb harddrive and Wi-Fi, and no HDMI. None of this werid 3rd SKU...still better then no Xbox 360 improvement, plus the kept the low end so I can buy what I want.
That's a great set of ideas, but if Microsoft did that it would imply that they actually have a brain or two and they clearly don't.
"I think and hope that people are going to understand. There is as price for being an early adopter and your points and feelings are valid (Penello said when referring to gamers IGN suggested would be angry about the new system). But whenever you innovate and change, you have to face this situation. Your same old system is still perfectly valid."
"We could never have done this before, to bring HMDI and 120 GB to the system when we launched in 2005. The reason we didn't do it before was because the HDMI standard wasn't complete. It takes time to develop these things. We started the console earlier than Sony did and when the HDMI standard wasn't done. At the time we were developing, this stuff was in transition."
******* off you couldn't have in HDMI in 2005. MS really irks me with this move. I wanted a god damn HDMI port....
This is such an obvious attempt to play the whole "lets match Sony" game. I mean come on, lets make it black (like PS3), with HDMI (like PS3) AND OMG 120GB HDD! IT's teh bigger than Sony!
um...but you can buy any old hard drive for a PS3, whereas your 120GB drive is almost $200 bucks...
Yep...I agree wholeheartedly.
Their excuses are laughable.
I hope my (recently RoD fixed) 360 doesn't break down after the 1yr warranty is up because if it does, I may spend my money elsewhere (ie Ps3 if I don't already own one) where at least I know I won't be nickel-and-dimed.
After this fiasco, I don't think I'll be spending much money in the XBLM anymore. I spent (roughly) $5 on 3 UFC videos (including Liddell-Ortiz 1) and for my trouble, I have 4gigs free on my 12g HD. (I say 12g since that's all they give us on a "20g HD".)

I would say the fact that no-one will be buying an iMac expecting to extensively use high-bandwidth peripherals is the more important reason why it's moot. Similarly with only using 8 PCIe lanes - it's not like the machine is going to be used for much where the GPU is bandwidth constrained.
I would think that you only notice PCIe bandwidth when you have ran out of FrameBuffer RAM, or are sharing System RAM. Since most dGPU's come with plenty of RAM you won't notice the loss of 8 PCIe lanes.

Just because a couple of geeks running MacRumours think this is front page worthy doesn't mean it is.
This just in, a game came out for Mac!
It's more embarrassing to the OS then anything.
You are a perfect candidate to start your own news website. And just think, you wouldn't have to do anything today!
PS: Who the ---- rates these threads negative? Ha ha! Id think its either positive or "meh, not interested". But negative?
You know the rating system is just too basic here.
This isn't like iTunes or those other similar services. Once you buy something on Steam, unless you lose your account somehow then you have that game forever. You can download it on as many computers as you like.
That's for audio files, which are controlled by the actual owners, which are NOT Apple or Amazon. Apps you can re-download, since they have different legal standing and contracts.

I can also say that the incoming class at my college was 60+% mac. Granted, tutition here is like $43,000 and the student body is about 1600, so this is a not a broad sampling of the population. Still a good sign, though.

4) Release a Mac Mini the have Tivo capability, frontrow "style" movie store that you can access and rent movies from across the room, and a huge HD between 250GB 500GB so you can import your current DVD collection. This would be my strategy if I was apple. And I know some people on here are screaming that they want to burn it to a disc, but simply ask yourself how many times have I watched the last movie I bought? Once! Maybe twice when you had to share your new found favorite movie with your friends or family. The movies you are going to want to buy, you will go to Wal-Mart and buy them for $15 each, then import them into the new mac mini!
New Mac mini would be better being a much larger beast with twin HDD (To take advantage of Bootcamp and/or Time Machine), faster burner, a graphics card of some repute, and a coupleof expansion slots for tuners etc.

So I got the GTX 480 and was messing around with getting it running without any luck. I'll have to spend some more time with it and getting windows installed on the 980x machine. I tried swapping it with a gt 260 but it didn't want to run, it was getting errors.

Comcast Data Cap + lossless music + Netflix + downloads + .....well I can stop adding things right here because 250GB goes a lot quicker than you'd think with a family of 5 computer users. No thanks, Apple cloud. I'll keep my storage local.

Exactly. I love how this report has everything broken down by manufacturer and OS, yet when they show their chart of typical usage (texting, downloading apps, web) they lump all devices in together as one!
Oh, really? Android users download apps at the same rate as iOS users do? I don't think so, but for them to reveal this fact would go against their mission, which was to show Apple stagnant and Android surging.
I saw some stats right here on MR several months back that showed the majority of Andorid users don't even surf the web on their devices, and Android has only about 20% of the web presence that iOS had, and at that time the "marketshare" was just about at parity.
You are totally misinformed or you are a blind iFanboy. As per a story on Appleinsider today, Android web share is actually higher than that of iPhone.

I personally do not understand the strong desire by some for a white phone over a black one. The specs should be the same short of the post I saw about the delay possibly due to camera issue and light being absorbed. Is the idea of white more "mac like" as its the color of many apple products? It works the same? I got some white epoxy here might do the trick :)
Clue me in please.

I used to be a huge fan of Nokia and owned alot of their phones. Everyday I lose more and more respect for the company because of news like this and their terrible phones they've been making.
