Stop using my name: Kajal Agarwal

She is undoubtedly amongst the most wanted actors in the South Indian film industry. Actor Kajal Aggarwal, who has had great success in Tamil and Telugu film industries, is currently unhappy with makers in Sandalwood who have gone on to claim that she’s going to be part of their films.

The film in question is Bul Bul, the Kannada remake of her Telugu superhit Darling opposite Prabhas, which is to be produced by Dinakar Thoogudeep. It has MD Sridhar as its director and Darshan has been roped in for the lead role. The production team has already announced that Kajal will be a part of the film.

“I haven’t signed any Kannada film. I don’t know why my name has been dragged into this. I haven’t been approached by anyone either. Why do people use my name? I’m currently busy with three films, one each in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. I’ve not signed anything else.” a rather angered Kajal clarifies.

Kajal, who has always maintained that she is open to act in films in all languages, says, “I’m from Mumbai, but I’ve received immense love and acceptance from the film industries in South India. I’m always game to do a Kannada film in case I get a good script.”

The actor is justified in being miffed considering this isn’t the first time that her name has been dragged into publicity. Around a year back, debutant film-maker Raghu Hassan, who was to be making a film titled Tathasthu with newcomer Chiraag in the lead, had made similar claims.

Raghu had then said, “I tried casting Sonam Kapoor. Unfortunately, she did not have the required dates. So I looked for someone of the same personality down south and finalised on Kajal.” Neither did Kajal do the film, nor have we heard anything more from the maker.

Ajay's Fidelity

Bollywood is one place where people take it for granted that relationships are most fickle. And if gossip columns are to be believed then some actor is cheating on his or her girlfriend or spouse almost everyday. But actor Ajay Devgn, begs to differ and says that things can be hunky dory between a couple if they work towards making it that way. Ajay, who is married to actor Kajol for about a decade now, believes that once a person makes a commitment to another, they should honour it for a lifetime.

The actor recently went on a reality show and when he was quizzed if it was natural for a man to cheat on his spouse if a ‘hot’ girl approached him and caught him unawares, Ajay denied the entire theory.

A source who was present on the sets of the reality show that puts one partner’s loyalty to test, says that Ajay endorsed the idea of commitment to the core. “He was taken aback when he saw youngsters treat cheating as just another fad and said that if a person truly honoured his relationship, he should consider his love unbreakable. It was nice to hear a much married man, from the film industry give some sane advice for a change,” says the source.

“You are either in a committed relationship or you’re not. You can’t be committed to someone and also consider options outside the relationship. The whole idea of getting ‘carried away’ by someone else’s charm, while in a relationship, is absolutely ridiculous!” said Ajay while passionately talking about the importance of fidelity in a relationship in today’s day and age.

“Ajay looks like he has very modern views and he probably does. But when it comes to basic issues, he is a traditional man and he proved it by reprimanding a girl who was cheating on her boyfriend. Let’s hope she takes his advice seriously.”

Ajay's "Singham" first look

As soon as he was done with his Golmaal 3, director Rohit Shetty didn’t take time to announce Singham with his friend Ajay Devgan. Once again he chose Goa, his favourite destination for shooting and completed Singham in a record time. Now the movie is ready to hit the theatres on July 22 and its first trailer released today with Salman Khan’s film Ready.

Ajay Devgan is back and this time he is not doing comedy but has a serious business to finish. He will throw fists at the baddies, and will fight injustice. For Singham, Ajay has gone through extensive weight training to get a beefed-up look. The actor has pumped iron to get those rippling muscles that his character requires in the film. The 42-year-old actor will show his six packs in the film which were not at all easy to get. Ajay trained under the fitness expert Prashant Sawant for three months.

Singham, a remake of a Tamil blockbuster with the same title, is about a brave cop in a small town played by Ajay. Newcomer Kajal Aggarwal, who has given several hits in the south, gets to play the heroine in the film.

The movie has right mix of fun and emotions along with some jaw-dropping action scenes performed by Ajay.

Ram Charan pulled it off when heroines fail . . .

Actor Ram Charan, son of Chiranjeevi, whose Maaveeran will be hitting the theatres shortly is overwhelmed with the warm reception he received from the Tamil industry. The journos were very surprised when he addressed them in perfect Tamil. Even the director Rajamouli and producer, Allu Aravind spoke in Tamil. This is amazing in an age where most of the heroines can barely string a sentence together in Tamil despite doing so many films in that language. They all received a thunderous applause from the delighted onlookers.

Ram Charan conveyed his gratitude to Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam for their kind words and encouragement. He said he loves Chennai as he spent his younger days in the city and it is close to his heart and hopes there will be more collaboration between the Tamil and Telugu film fraternities.

Charmi to shake as Munni

Power Star Pawan Kalyan is producing the remake of Salman Khan‘s Bollywood Blockbuster ‘Dabangg’ under his own banner Creative Works with Harish Shankar of Mirapakai fame as the director. Kajal Agarwal is to play the love interest for Pawan Kalyan in this remake titled ‘Gabbar Singh’.

In Hindi, the film had Malaika Arora’s sizzling item number ‘Munni Badnaam’ that played a crucial part in the Dabangg's success. Now, a similar song is being planned for the Telugu version too as everyone involved believed that the magic cannot be recreated without it.

Initially, the filmmakers did approach Malaika Arora to shake her sexy legs even for 'Gabbar Singh', but due to her heavy remuneration, she d to be kept aside with our very own sex bomb Charmi been roped for the song after a titillating item number that she had done for the film ‘Ragada’ that drove the audience applaude for more of her hotness.

The role of the cop's brother would be played by Srikanth while Krishnam Raju and Jayasudha are likely to play his parents.

The film would have Devi Sri Prasad scoring again for Pawan Kalyan after ‘Jalsa’.

Kajal Aggarwal not playing the female lead

There were reports that reigning Tamil-Telugu actress Kajal Aggarwal is likely to be the lead lady in actor Simbu's Tamil remake of Salman Khan's super hit 'Dabangg'. But the makers of the Tamil version made it clear that Kajal Aggarwal will not be part of the film.

Apparently, they are looking for a top heroine from Bollywood and efforts are on to make Sonam Kapoor sign on the dotted line. Notably, the original heroine Sonakshi Sinha refused the role in Tamil remake.

There were also stories that Katrina Kaif might do the film, since she has already worked in some South Indian films. 'Dabangg' is being remade in Telugu as well with Pawan Kalyan in the lead.

Ranbir to look Macho ??

These days we are coming across several projects in Bollywood that are remakes of some hit south projects. While few top stars are busy in such films currently, latest to join the remake bandwagon is our Youngistan handsome Ranbir Kapoor.

Buzz is that Ranbir has been approached for the remake of 2009 Telugu super hit film ‘Magadheera’, starring Ram Charan and directed by SS Rajamouli. The Hindi version will also be helmed by Rajamouli and produced by Madhu Mantena and Allu Arvind. According to sources, the producer wanted to sign in the likes of Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Shahid Kapoor. However things didn’t work as planned and finally Madhu went for Ranbir who is also associated with Madhu's brand management company.

Sources believe that Katrina Kaif will play opposite Ranbir, for the leading lady which was played by Kajal Agrawal in the original. For the records, ‘Magadheera’ is a reincarnation story that travels 400 years back and forth. The film is about a warrior who lived at a time when Mughals ruled a part of North India around the 17th century. The warrior falls in love with the princess he is to protect but they both die only to be reincarnated again 400 years later. The film had created records by being the highest grosser movie in Telugu.

It is said that Ranbir will feature here in double avatars. And to match the script’s character, the actor has been asked to work on his body to get into a macho shape.

However, one has to wait for the confirmation from the concerned parties…. So stay tuned…

Kajal goes into Bollywood..!!

Kajal Agarwal, having consolidated her position as one of the most sought-after contemporary heroines, is now moving towards Bollywood.

After a constant watch for the right chance, she has accepted a role opposite Ajay Devgn for the remake of Suriya`s Tamil hit Singam (dubbed in Telugu as Yamudu). The film will be directed by Rohith Shetty.

Anushka was initially chosen but after she denied the role they moved on to Kajal.
Interestingly, many heroines from South, Shriya, Trisha, Asin and Priyamani, have tried their luck in Bollywood, but they had to make a U-turn at the very initial stage, with just one or two films. Let us wait and see how Kajal wades through the high-voltage competition there.
