"Asin overdid it, Nayan underplayed" - Trisha

Actress Trisha is busy reprising Nayanthara's role in the Telugu version of Bodyguard which Kareena Kapoor is playing in Hindi. Paired opposite Venkatesh in the film, the actress says she has completed the first schedule of the film.

With Trisha and Kareena playing Nayanthara's role, there has been a lot of buzz as to who will be the best and whether the other two will live up to or be better than the original act. Asin played the role in Tamil in Kaavalan opposite Vijay. Comparisons between the four actresses have been making headlines but Trisha said in a recent interview that she wants to be herself and stand out. She's also quoted as saying that she believes Nayan underplayed her role while Asin overdid it.

In Chennai on a break from shoot, Trisha took up the cause for dogs and encouraged people to adopt a pet.

Trisha's friend and costar

Trisha is a great animal lover and is an activist for PETA. The actress will be doing a commercial for PETA to raise awareness about homeless animals and to persuade people to be kind and compassionate to them. Her co-star for this ad is a stray dog named Bambi. The stray had a rough time on the streets before being rescued by a kindly passerby.

Being someone who practices what she preaches, Trisha has done more than her fair share for homeless animals. Time and again she has rescued wounded birds, dogs, and even squirrels and taken them home with her. Recently, while in Hyderabad, she rescued a stray pup called Cadbury who was wounded and shivering in the rain. Trisha says Cadbury is practically family now.

Latest Sensation ..

Even before her Engeyum Kadhal released, Hansika Motwani was signed up for Mapillai opposite Dhanush directed by Suraj. Mapillai produced by Sun Pictures was the remake of Superstar Rajinikanth's yesteryear film of the same name.

Though Hansika has done a few movies in Telugu as the lead, she became more famous and managed to steal the hearts of Tamil youngsters as well after the photos from Engeyum Kadhal were officially released by AGS and Prabhu Deva.

Along with Tapasee, who also paired with Dhanush in Aadukalam, Hansika became one of the most preferred actresses for Tamil movie producers.

Actor Jayam Ravi, in a recent interview, mentioned how much fun it was to work with her during the shooting of Engeyum Kadhal.

Her career is confirmed for success after she was signed opposite Udhayanidhi Stalin in Red Giant Movies' Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (OKOK) directed by Rajesh (of Siva Manasula Sakthi and Boss Engira Baskaran fame). It is heard that other actresses such as Trisha and Tamannaah who were in the race for the role in OKOK are quite jealous of Hansika!

Hansika’s performance in Engeyum Kadhal has been loved by many, so we should see more of her in Kollywood in the days to come.

Trisha refused Sasikumar

Sasikumar’s next film with buddy Samuthirakani is called Poraali. This film will deal with Sri Lankan issues. Poraali is all set to begin but has one hurdle to deal. Yes, both Sasi Kumar and Samuthrakani are finding it difficult to pick out the heroine.

Anjali of Angadi Theru was supposed to do the role but she had to leave the project after failing to resolve creative differences with the filmmakers. Trisha was considered for the role, but the actress is very particular about the films she does and believes that big banners with superstars are the safest options for her at this stage. Sasikumar had to swallow the rejection and begin his hunt for a suitable leading lady afresh. Wonder who will finally get this plum role?

VTV Hindi Remake to hit floors soon

‘Vinnaithandi Vaaruvaaya’ was a smashing hit in Tamil. The film was directed by Gautham Menon with Simbu and Trisha in the lead. Now the National Award winning director is all set to make another hit with the Hindi version of VTV. The film will get on the floors on April 4, say reports. Right from his first film ‘Minnale,’ Gautham has been receiving offers from producers for Hindi remakes of almost all his films.

All the speculation surrounding the remake of Vinnaithanndi Varuvaaya in Hindi can be put to rest as it has been confirmed that the shooting will commence on April 4th. Prateik Babbar, son of Smita Patel and Raj Babbar, is to play the role played to perfection by Silambarasan in Tamil. Amy Jackson of Madrasapattinam fame will play Trisha’s role.

The project was delayed as Prateik was caught up with commitments to his Hindi film, Dhobi Ghat produced by Aamir Khan. But his dates are available now and he is also eager to begin shooting for VTV. Amy Jackson has spent the interim taking diction lessons in Hindi so that language will not be a barrier. AR Rahman has been roped in to do the music. The stage is all set for an encore of the phenomenal success of VTV.

So we can expect some great fireworks on screen with splendid music and great locations, yet again for the Hindi VTV.

Next Sridevi ..

Trisha's latest film with Pawan Kalyan, Teen Maar, which is a remake of Love Aaj Kal, has been declared a smash hit. It is scaling new heights at the box office and is also raking in the big bucks overseas. In addition to the movie being declared a hit, her performance as Meera has generated rave reviews.

Her last outing in Tamil was VTV, where her performance was liked by critics and fans alike. The actress has been the reigning Queen in the Tamil as well as Telugu industry for quite some time now. The only heroine to have ruled the roost in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi was Sridevi and Trisha may just do the same.

She has made her debut in Bollywood albeit to a lukewarm response but it is only a matter of time before she conquers hearts there as well. She is being considered for a lot of big projects and Trisha is taking her time to pick the best ones as she can afford to be choosy.

Trisha in "Tanu weds Manu" remake

Madhavan is on a high these days as his Tanu Weds Manu was a big hit in Bollywood. Now he has more reason to smile as he has been approached for the remake in Tamil. The actor has agreed since this project is very close to his heart.

The makers have also approached Trisha for the role that Kangna Ranaut did in the original. It is felt that she will be perfect as the rebel who hates tradition and conventionality. There has been no official confirmation yet, but sources reveal that Trisha is quite eager to do the role with one of her earliest co-stars.

Ajith dons the "George Clooney" look

Irrespective of the age of the heroes, Kollywood has always gone to great heights to preserve the hero with an ever-young look. The moviegoers too love to see their hero with a flawless face and hair that waves in the air. Ajith has been a trend setter for many styles in Kollywood and he is undoubtedly the only hero who looks handsome in any attire he sports. Now in ‘Mankatha’ he will sport a look which director Venkat Prabhu is confident will be a trendsetter in films that follow.

Some news which has leaked from the ‘Mankatha’ team, which has returned from shooting in Mumbai, has revealed that Trisha plays Saniana, the daughter of a Mumbai goon who rules the slums of Dharavi. Our hero Ajith plays Vinayak. The director and hero were looking for a new look for the protagonist, trying out many styles and finally it seems Ajith suggested a new look, which was the casual salt and pepper hairstyle he usually sports. The director immediately seems to have liked the look and immediately gave it his thumbs up!

Now the fans will see their “Thala” sporting this salt and pepper hairstyle throughout the film. Venkat has also opined that this hairdo goes well with the character that Ajith portrays. It reminds us the George Clooney look. Clooney has been voted many times by People’s magazine as the sexiest man alive! With Ajith sporting a similar look we can be pretty sure it is going to look natural and be a hit with the audience.

Director Venkat Prabhu is also assisting the film’s editing process with Yuvan working on the music portions. Venkat Prabhu is believed to be quite excited about this project because he has shot the film with his favorite hero. The entire team of ‘Mankatha’ is confident of the film being welcomed by the Tamil audience worldwide.

Teen Maar's grand release in 1000 theatres..

Actor Pawan Kalyan's romantic entertainer 'Teen Maar' is headed for a record of sorts as it being released on Thursday across 1000 theatres worldwide and will be screened in Hyderabad 30 times on the first day.

'Theen Maar' is the only Telugu film to be released across 1000 screens worldwide.

According to reports the film will also be screened at Prasads IMAX in Hyderabad with 30 shows a day on the first day of release.

'Theen Maar' is a romantic, action entertainer that marks Kalyan's return in a big way since his hit 'Khushi'.

Directed by Jayanth C Paranji, the music of 'Teen Maar' has also been received well by the audience.

Pawan Kalyan plays dual role in the film starring opposite Trisha and Kriti Karbhanda. The film is produced by Ganesh Babu on Parameshwara Arts Productions Banner.

"Teen Maar" to smash all Tollywood records

He’s known as the Power Star of Telugu film industry and one look at the release plans of Teen Maar tells you why. The Pawan Kalyan-starrer is all set to release in a record 1,150 theatres across the globe today, creating a record in Tollywood.

And the producers expect to get their returns from the film in the opening weekend itself. “There will be 4,000 shows of Teen Maar on the first day and if all of them are houseful, the film will collect `8 crore. This is the biggest release for any hero in Tollywood till date,” says Ganesh Babu, the producer of the film.

This film, which is a remake of Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal, has already created a great impact with its songs. The film has Trisha playing the role that Deepika Padukone essayed in the original, while Kriti Kharbanda will be playing the role Giselli Monteiro had.

Director Jayant C Parinji, who has been one of the most successful film-makers in Tollywood, has incorporated a whole lot of changes to suit this for the masses. “Pawan Kalyan has a certain image that needs to be kept in mind while making a film. This is why I’ve changed the settings for both the characters he plays. One plays a suave master chef in Cape Town while the older guy, who comes in the flashback, is an angry student leader in Benaras,” explains Jayant.

He adds that both his heroines too have big roles to essay in the film. “While I’ve retained the essence of Love Aaj Kal in Teen Maar, my film is eventually a commercial entertainer meant for Power Star’s fans,” says Jayant.

With the stakes getting bigger in this film, it only remains to see which one is the next Tollywood film that will look towards breaking this record.

Trisha to star in "Band Baaja Baarat" remake

The latest buzz in K’Town is all about Trisha starring in the Tamil remake of last year’s Bollywood hit Band Baaja Baraat.

According to sources, in the Tamil remake which is said to be produced by UTV, Trisha will reprise the role of Shruti Kakkar (played by Anushka Sharma in the original version) who aspires to be a wedding planner.

Looks like Trisha is a hot favourite for remakes in the South. The peppy girl, who is on a high in Tollywood with her remakes Teen Maar (Love Aaj Kal) and Bodyguard (a remake of Malayalam film of the same name) has now been approached for the Band Baaja Barat remake in Tamil and Telugu.

Meanwhile, the actress says that she is all set for the shooting of Bodyguard, being directed by Gopi who has made a few changes in the script.

“I watched both the Malayalam as well as the Tamil version of Kaavalan, just to get an idea about the character.” She is keen to enhance the role to suit the taste of Telugu audiences.

Bollywood Storm Soon ..

Trisha, the dream girl of Tamil cinema, was supposed to the Hindi remake of Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya, to be directed by Gautham Menon himself. She was supposed to do the role that she enacted in the original in Hindi too opposite Pratik Babbar. However reasons unspecified she was replaced by Madrassapatinnam girl Amy Jackson.

Rumours were abuzz that Trisha was shown the door after a rift with Gautham Menon.

When contacted, Trisha says,'I gave 25 days call-sheet to the project. But Gautham didn’t use it.So I was not in a position to act in the film. At the same time, I would also like to clarify that there is no problem between me and Gautham. We are good friends even now and would work together again,' she further says.

Trisha’s Bollywood debut with Khatta Meetha may have turned into a damp squib but that did not deter the lady from trying her luck once again. She is reportedly in talks with a popular Bollywood producer and director and is in the verge of signing the dotted lines.

Asin loses Fairever to Trisha

This has nothing to do with the fairness, complexion or hotness between Trisha and Asin, but the combat between them to clinch the biggest brand of skin cream ? Yes, Fairever has been one such brand that has been drawing more customers for its very unique nature of transforming dark skin into a fair complexion. Asin has been its brand ambassador over the years and now its a surprise for the brand managers themselves to see Trisha appearing on the shooting spots of new ad campaigns for ‘Fairever Cream’. It has been confirmed that Trisha has replaced Asin for this brand and no valid reasons has been expressed by the brand producers.

Besides this, changes have been taking place also in Tollywood with Trisha doing what Asin did in the remake of ‘Bodyguard’ directed by Siddique. Although plans were to cast Anushka opposite Venkatesh in this remake, Trisha seem to have changed the minds of the producers to cast her instead. Trisha is now flying high on cloud nine for gaining more offers in Tollywood that includes her upcoming release ‘Teen Maar’ a remake of yesteryear Bollywood hit ‘Love Aaj Kal’ opposite PowerStar Pawan Kalyan. Apart from this movie, she is also working with Ajith Kumar in his 50th movie ‘Mankatha’.

Amy in, Trisha out

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is a wonderful technician. His latest success ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ and Tamil version ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa’ offered great breaks for Samantha Ruth and Trisha respectively in Tollywood and Kollywood. Breaking Trisha’s dreams for the same role in Hindi version of this remake, Gautham has lodged in Amy Jackson, British beauty queen turned actress.

After acting in Tamil blockbuster ‘Madarasipattanam,’ Gautham has picked the girl for this new project. Director has made changes to the original script to suit the taste of Bollywood audiences. Instead of a Hindu boy falling in love with a Kerala Christian Kutty, talk is that the lead will be a Maharashtrian or Punjabi guy who falls for a British girl and goes in search of her all over Europe in this Hindi version. Accordingly screenplay specialist Javed Akhtar was supervising the script modifications. So, finally Trisha and Samanta are replaced by a British Foreigner Amy Jackson.

AR Rahman will set to recreate the magic with music for this movie.
